Committed to
Peru and the World
Our care for nature has been inspired by the respect of generations of farmers who taught us to protect the most precious assets on this planet: water, air and earth.
We are food producers. Our greatest expectation is to ensure that no time is wasted in achieving this goal. In line with this, during the fruit harvesting months, the company is committed to the regular distribution of seasonal fruits to vulnerable groups of people (local schools, retirement homes, medical centers, etc.), thus fighting hunger by helping to provide a balanced nutrition.
We share an ideal of health based on prevention, being involved in action programs to guarantee that education is provided on healthy life styles, and seeking to promote the physical and mental well-being of our employees and neighboring communities. Our work field extends to our employees’ families and surrounding populations, promoting family planning and screening campaigns for non-communicable or chronic diseases, such as diabetes and cardiovascular and respiratory diseases. We also raise awareness on the prevention of communicable diseases such as HIV, COVID-19, among others. Our goal is to address the common diseases or conditions that affect our community for their early detection and eradication.
We penalize and report any attack and/or gender-based violence acts according to our Zero Tolerance Policy. We conduct regular awareness lectures and campaigns to eradicate any forms of gender inequality.
Due to being located in a valley with an ongoing history of water crisis, we have developed several programs to tackle water access and quality issues. One of our biggest achievements is the Wastewater Treatment Plant (PTAR) located in San José de los Molinos, where we successfully installed the first of its kind with biodigester treatment in Peru. As a result, we are able to treat waste water from a sector that hosts more than 7000 residents, including a large number of our employees.
We were the first agricultural export company in Ica to use solar power for our irrigation systems. We are currently developing a solar panel installation project for our processing plant, in order to increase the use of clean energy by replacing our regular source of energy for a clean and renewable alternative.
Our Social Responsibility Policy focuses on equality during all processes: “To ensure that our processes are free from any forms of discrimination whatsoever on grounds of gender, religion, ethnicity, social origin or nationality, place of birth, sexual orientation, participation in union organizations, marital status, disability, among others.”
We have reclaimed over 200 hectares that were affected by the floods that devastated the Ica region in 1998. Nowadays, after remaining abandoned and unproductive for almost 20 years, these hectares are covered by more than 100,000 fruit trees, including avocado and citrus fruits, and have become a work source for over 300 direct and indirect workers.
